Breakfast and Pub at The Forester and Flower – No Longer
When we stayed at The Forester and Flower, it was a bed and breakfast. We enjoyed breakfast served in the downstairs dining room. The breakfast includes various fruits, jams, breads, granola, yogurt, and more. The homemade jams and muffins are also a highlight and are all made from locally sourced ingredients.
Note, however, that today, this hotel no longer operates as a B&B, so you will need to make arrangements for breakfast and other meals at nearby eateries.
Similarly, the once-operating pub has also been closed inside this establishment.

Our Experience at The Forester & Flower
The hostess of the hotel is amiable and outgoing. We were greeted with some of the best local travel information and tips compared to anywhere else in our years of traveling. The hostess was a wealth of information about things to do in the area. She provided information on public transportation, recommendations on places to eat, and tips on places to visit in Bath.
Our Rose Room offered a bed and two chairs on either side: a dresser, closet, and small table round out the room. The room was supplied with bottled water daily. The hospitality tray was well stocked with coffee, tea, and biscuits. The bathroom was provided with shower gel and soap.
The Rose Room faces the main street, so we had a bit of street noise when we opened the window. If you plan to visit when the weather is warm, you may want to choose a room that doesn’t face the street so you have less street noise if you open your window.
Our only negative thing about the room was that it was a rather uncomfortable bed. It was almost as if you could feel bed springs while lying down. At least it wasn’t a mushy mattress.

Location
Located in Combe Down, The Forester and Flower is less than two miles from Bath city center. Visitors with cars will find a small car park behind the property.Â
Travelers without cars can get easy access to Bath via bus transportation.  We used the #2 bus to and from Bath city center. This was typically a short 10-minute bus ride.  There is a bus stop just outside the hotel, and you can travel on it to Bath Spa Rail Station.
If you desire a rental car while visiting, we recommend Discover Cars.
It’s nice to be close enough to the city’s main attractions but in a quieter environment for our evening’s sleep. The peaceful location provides a respite after touring the sites in Bath while providing reasonable proximity to the city center.
Tip:Â Â The all-day pass is your best value if you ride the bus on more than one leg daily. Also, download the Bath city map in Google Maps before arrival for those traveling here without international phone plans but with a smartphone device. Plug in the address during your bus ride, and that will help you identify where to get off the bus for the hotel, as bus stops are notoriously unmarked for riders in new towns.
