Mount Rushmore and Fort Laramie National Historic Site
In episode 95, we conclude our multi-episode road trip to Wyoming. Â This podcast installment takes us to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota before finishing our trip in Wyoming. Our final stops in Wyoming include the Fort Laramie National Historic Site and an overnight stay in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

We stayed at the Town Hall Inn the night before our Mount Rushmore visit. You’ll find this boutique hotel just five minutes from the famous town of Deadwood, South Dakota. It’s an excellent location for visiting the Black Hills area of South Dakota.
Mount Rushmore
Mount Rushmore is a treasure of American history — located in the Black Hills of South Dakota; it features the iconic carved faces of four presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. It’s a special place visited by nearly 3 million people visit yearly.
Fort Laramie National Historic Site
Fort Laramie was an important trading post along the Oregon Trail in the 1800s – perhaps the most important location related to America’s westward expansion. Today, Fort Laramie National Historic Site is a living museum where you can explore historic structures and gain insight into the lives of those who traveled west seeking new opportunities.
Cheyenne Wyoming and the Nagel Warren Mansion
Having completed our Wyoming National Park System sites tour, we drove into Cheyenne, Wyoming, where we stayed at the Nagel Warren Mansion. This B&B has classic Victorian architecture on the outside and is elegant and in keeping with a Victorian theme on the inside. It is a first-rate historic bed and breakfast. You can easily walk from the B&B to neighborhood restaurants, bars, and the train depot.Â
