Camarillo – PVRPD’s Trail or Treat
Trick or Treat along the Camarillo Grove Trail! Answer nature-based questions at stops on the trail and receive treats! Parents are free! Dress in a Halloween costume with good walking shoes. Collect candy and small trinkets. Learn about nature and take a craft home, or stay and make it in the Nature Center.

Moorpark – Haunted High Street
Haunted High Street in Moorpark is a thrilling carnival event that promises to delight children aged 3-10. With a wide variety of carnival games, attractions, and prizes, it guarantees a fun-filled experience.
One of the highlights is the costume contest, where participants can win awesome prizes. The pumpkin patch hosted by the Moorpark City Library will offer pumpkin decorating, arts & crafts, and a food court. Additionally, children can enjoy the Trunk-or-Treat activity, collecting candy and small prizes from decorated vehicles provided by local businesses.

Moorpark – Underwood Family Farms Fall Harvest Festival
Underwood Family Farms’ Fall Harvest Festival is one of Ventura County’s biggest fall traditions, featuring a gigantic pumpkin patch, tractor-drawn wagon rides, a corn maze, farm animals, photo opportunities, pick-your-own produce, games, live entertainment, and plenty of activities for families. We’ve brought our own little ones here through the years, and it remains one of our favorite places for a classic fall day.
Each weekend features a different theme with special entertainment, demonstrations, performers, and live music:
- September 26 & 27 – Friends of the Farm Weekend (Public Safety Weekend)
- October 3 & 4 – Farm Country Weekend
- October 10 & 11 – Antique Tractor Weekend
- October 17 & 18 – Wild West Weekend
- October 24 & 25 – All About Pumpkins Weekend
Festival admission includes favorites such as the pumpkin patch, corn maze, wagon rides, Animal Center, play areas, harvest displays, photo spots, and access to the pick-your-own fields, with produce purchased separately. Weekends add animal shows, pig races, demonstrations, themed entertainment, and live bands. Additional ticketed activities include train rides, gem and fossil mining, animal feeding, games, crafts, face painting, and other attractions.

Port Hueneme Spook-Tacular
Celebrate Halloween at the 5th Annual Port Hueneme Spook-Tacular, a family-friendly community celebration hosted by the City of Port Hueneme. The evening will feature music, treats, a pumpkin patch, carnival games, and plenty of seasonal fun for kids and families.
One of the highlights is a community pumpkin-carving contest, giving local residents a chance to show off their creative Halloween designs. Additional event details are expected as October approaches, so check with the City of Port Hueneme Recreation & Community Services for the latest information before attending.

Santa Paula – Prancer’s Farm Fall Festival
This fall harvest festival features a 30-acre pumpkin patch and family fun. Highlights include tractor-drawn wagon rides, pick your pumpkin on 15 acres, hay pyramids, an animal center with a petting zoo, live performers (weekends only), wheelbarrows, a corn expedition, sunflower picking, and a barrel train ride.

Halloween Events Thousand Oaks
Thousand Oaks – Halloween Haunted Trail
The Conejo Recreation & Park District offers a night full of Halloween fun for youngsters. The trail ends with a hayride that returns Halloween “hikers” to the “haunted trailhead.” Attendees in costume can participate in a costume contest with prizes awarded in multiple categories. The popular “Trick-or-Treat Street” will have Halloween-themed houses with treats available. A free live reptile show takes place after the costume contest.
The event takes place on the soccer fields behind the Community Center. This event will sell out, so BUY TICKETS EARLY!

Thousand Oaks – Reign of Terror Haunted House
Prepare for some serious scares at Reign of Terror Haunted House, one of Southern California’s largest indoor walk-through haunted attractions. For 2026, the Thousand Oaks haunt expands to 12 connected attractions with 145 rooms spread across 35,000 square feet.
New for 2026 are Backwoods, where visitors make their way through decrepit cabins and an ominous wilderness, and The Hotel, a once-grand property filled with apparitions and sinister surprises. The Funhouse has also been completely reimagined for the new season. Other themed areas range from haunted mansions and cursed swamps to vampires, abandoned mines, zombies, and supernatural horrors.
Reign of Terror operates for 18 nights during the 2026 season. General admission includes all 12 attractions and the post-haunt photo-op area. An Immediate Access ticket is also available for visitors who want to minimize their wait.
For a less frightening look behind the scenes, Reign of Terror offers a special Lights On walk-through on October 17 from noon to 3 p.m. The season concludes November 1 with Lights Out, when guests navigate the haunt in darkness with only a small glow stick.
Know before you go: Reign of Terror recommends the regular haunted-house experience for ages 13 and older because of its intense scares. Free parking is available at Janss Marketplace.

Find the perfect pumpkin, from minis to giants. The patch is in Ventura at the Pacific View Mall (near Target). Enjoy activities for the kids and photo opportunities. Besides pumpkins, you can also pick up ornamental items, including gourds, Indian corn, and hay bales. Also available are carving kits, candles, and stencils.

Ventura – Bloodsucker’s Ball
Embrace your inner vampire at the 3rd Annual Bloodsuckers Ball, an adults-only evening of gothic entertainment at the historic Majestic Ventura Theater. Guests can expect live vampiric performances, eerie photo opportunities, a Macabre Marketplace featuring gothic and horror-themed artists and vendors, specialty cocktails, food, and a Best Dressed Vampire Costume Contest.
A vampire costume is required for admission, so this isn’t an event where you can simply show up in your everyday clothes. Vampire styles from virtually any era are welcome, making the evening part Halloween party, part immersive theatrical experience. The event is open to guests ages 18 and older, and advance general admission tickets start at $20.

Ventura Harbor Village has published the 2026 date for its waterfront HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Costume Contest. This is separate from the Camarillo Howl-O-Ween already listed in your article. Up to 75 dogs can compete in categories including Best in Show, Spookiest, Most Sea-Worthy, Most On-Trend, and Most Creative, followed by a costumed pup parade along the harbor promenade. Given the harbor location, pet-travel angle, and established event format, it would add useful variety to the Ventura County post.
