This U.K. city may not attract the same crowds as London, Manchester, and Edinburgh. But it’s the first U.K. city we visited, which started our fascination with the United Kingdom.

Cardiff has long been known for its rich culture, captivating history, friendly locals, and stunning architecture. But in recent years, it has become a hub of energy, with an ever-growing list of attractions and activities. From the iconic Millennium Stadium to the wonderful Cardiff Castle to the modern shopping district in St David’s Centre, there is something for everyone in this bustling city.

Our Cardiff Travel Podcast episodes highlight the capital of Wales.  Yes, Cardiff’s tourism is much less than other cities in the UK. But it offers plenty to warrant more travel attention.

We present some of Cardiff’s history, fun facts, and our impressions of the city.  Cardiff is accessible by train from London.  If arriving by airplane, take the T9 bus from Cardiff airport to the city center.

We leveraged DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Great Britain to identify specific attractions during our trip.  The book helped identify walking tours and museums and times when provided days particular places are open to visitors.  We recommend purchasing a book similar to this one when planning a more extended trip.
