Full English Breakfast
It was during our trip to Dunster, that we first enjoyed this entrée at the Exmoor House B&B. We understand there are some variations that may vary with region or personal preference. Our recreation is a version for vegetarians, so no meat products in this approach, but of course, you can integrate the meat products of your choice.
For this ‘recipe’, we’re not going to get into the minutae of ingredients nor the step by step instructions of preparation. Well, with one exception to follow. We trust everyone knows how to fry an egg. For the beans, the quick option is to open and heat the contents of a can – though if you want to make your own, you can find a supporting recipe on your own Ditto for toast. You do know how to make toast, yes?
INGREDIENTS
Here is the list of what made it onto our plate when we made our vegetarian full English breakfast at home.
- Two fried eggs
- Side of baked beans
- Tomatoes – cut in half, heated on a bit of oil, cut side down in pan
- Mushrooms – sautéed
- Toast or fried bread
For a meat version – add sausage or bacon or both.
OUR RECREATION OF THE FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST
Below is our recreation of the full English breakfast.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Add tea for beverage, ketchup or brown sauce, and fruit jam for the toast. Options for the plate can include numerous items – potatoes being one of several you can add to the fry-up.
