Christmas Events Campo

Campo – Santa Train North Pole Limited

Experience the magic of Christmas aboard the Santa Train North Pole Limited! Starting at the lighted Campo Depot, the journey begins with picking up tickets in the restored passenger waiting room. Arriving at least 45 minutes early is recommended to allow time for parking, ticket collection, and a visit to the gift shop. Don’t miss the chance to listen to captivating tales from railroading’s past at the nearby Hobo Camp. Once onboard, Santa’s elves will delight passengers with Christmas carols, a cherished holiday story, and treats of cookies and hot chocolate for everyone. The train stops at Santa’s Workshop to pick up Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will visit with all passengers on the return trip to Campo Depot. The enchanting train ride lasts approximately 90 minutes, creating memories for both young and old in the heartwarming spirit of the season.

Simi Valley – Holiday in the Park

The Simi Valley Historical Society is proud to announce the return of a cherished community event at Strathearn Historical Park – a Holiday Open House featuring Santa and Mrs. Claus!.

Santa will be available for FREE photos from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the St. Rose of Lima church. Bring your camera for a great family photo opportunity. There will be continuous entertainment in the Wood Ranch Barn beginning at 11:30. Face Painter, Katie Dragoo will decorate faces with festive and fun designs. The Simi Store will have a wonderful and eclectic assortment of holiday gift ideas at reasonable prices.

The park’s historical buildings, antique and vintage tractors, and cars will be open for public informal tours. Joining us this year will be the Boy Scouts, who will have an activity booth and information about scouting.

Ventura – Santa Paddle At Ventura Harbor Village

Head to Ventura Harbor Village on Saturday, December 21st, for the Santa Paddle! Santa trades his reindeer for a paddle board, and visitors can join him on his journey by renting a kayak, stand-up paddle board, or character pedal boat from Ventura Boat Rentals to participate in the fun. Everyone is invited to dress festively in the spirit of the season – dress like Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, reindeer, or anything holiday!

Ol’ Saint Nick shows up around 11:00 a.m., but plan to arrive a little early to secure rentals with Ventura Boat Rentals (located on C Dock in Ventura Harbor Village – down on the docks below Brophy Bros. and On the Alley restaurants). After a group photo on the water, our Santa will lead a festive precession from Ventura Boat Rentals to through the marina to Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center and back.

Following the Santa Paddle, enjoy the Winter Wonderland & Holiday Marketplace in Ventura Harbor Village from Noon – 4pm. Shop for the holidays and support local! Visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus and live reindeer. Dine by the sea & grab seasonal sweet treats!

We didn’t stop in the southland for our exploration of Christmas Events in California. Our next offering departs from our Southern California Christmas Events geography. If you want to experience one of the most wonderful Christmas time celebrations in the state, set out on a road trip to Nevada City.  It’s one of the most enjoyable Christmas in California events we’ve attended.

Nevada City – Victorian Christmas

Welcome the Christmas season in Nevada season. The aroma of roasted chestnuts is in the air. The magical setting on gas lamp-lit streets are alive with street vendors selling Christmas treasures, carolers in Victorian attire singing holiday songs, and seasonal food and drink. Enjoy live entertainment, and you may even see Father Christmas!
