Calabasas – Night of the Jack
The ultimate Los Angeles Halloween event is back at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas. Night of the Jack features Halloween fun for everyone. A 1-mile trail at the ranch has blazing gourds around every corner. See a spooktacular illuminated light show experience under the California autumn sky. Live carving is demonstrated at this event.
The event is kid-friendly; they can see their favorite characters in pumpkin form. Adults can enjoy a seasonal cocktail at the Spookeasy bar, while the littles can enjoy festive fall treats. Some of LA’s best food trucks will be serving meals on site. Don’t forget to visit the souvenir shop before you depart to pick up a memento of your visit.
Most guests spend just over an hour on the site engaging in the activation zone before or after walking the trail. This is a vastly popular event, typically attracting 100,000 visitors per season.

Long Beach – Historical Cemetery Tour
The Historical Society of Long Beach’s signature Annual Historical Cemetery Tour takes place on the last Saturday in October at Long Beach Municipal Cemetery and Sunnyside Cemetery. This all-ages, self-guided event brings local history to life through 10-minute graveside performances, with community theater actors in period costume portraying people buried at the cemeteries.
Performances repeat every 20 minutes from 9 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.; arriving before noon is recommended to experience the full program. Visitors can also explore Japanese American history, a Día de los Muertos installation, local-history displays, talks by historians, and book signings with local authors.
