In episode five, we take you to Raglan, Wales. In this small village, we visit the grounds of Raglan Castle. Wander through the ruins of this great Welsh castle with us as you listen. We’ll also explore a little bit of the small village of Raglan with lunch at The Ship Inn.
On the way back to Cardiff, we also stop at Caerleon. This town is an archaeological site and residential suburb of Newport, Wales. It was important as the Roman fortress of Isca and one of the permanent legionary bases in Britain – a long, long time ago.

As we made this visit with our base in Cardiff, you can also find our recommended itinerary for visiting Cardiff.
We leveraged “DK Eyewitness Travel Guide Great Britain” to identify specific attractions during our trip. The book helped identify walking tours and museums and provided days and times when particular places were open. We recommend purchasing a book similar to this one when planning a more extended trip.
